My name is Dr. Finley. I am married. I am mother of three boys, two adult sons and one 13-year-old. (Definitely the husband’s fault.) I am like most moms. RUNNING ALL THE TIME. I work every day. I cook most days (😊) I am the lead facilitator of keeping our home clean. Oh and don’t forget about sports and community connections.

Since you have learned a little about me, let us talk about the meaning of Blue Onyx. What is Blue Onyx? I think we all understand vibes so I will leave that one alone.

Blue Onyx is a stone that will:

  • Increase your happiness and contentment in life (Support).
  • Enhance your intuition and strengthen your resolve in changing bad habits (Educate).
  • Reduce or eliminate the stress and allow your body to cope the demands of life (Stress Management).
  • Help you approach a task or lesson with confidence and positivity. It will get rid of distractions and increase your motivation (Strength).

These are Blue Onyx Vibes. These are the topics we will explore on a weekly basis. I want to encourage my followers by sharing ways to support, educate, manage stress, and strengthen your focus on this blog.

Jumping right in…SUPPORT (notice I am pulling you in).

What are you doing to support yourself and others during this Pandemic?

I am working remotely, providing education support for our 13-year-old son, cooking dinner every night, greeting my husband with a kiss upon his return home from a long workday, etc. I could go on and on and on. I am no different than others in the world right now. What I have decided to do to support my mental health is write down things I have accomplished during this time.

Have you accomplished anything for yourself during this Pandemic? I am not referring to housework, landscaping, grocery shopping (which is a challenge right now), cleaning out closets, etc.

What have you done for yourself?

Me, well, I launched a small business, lost weight, coached others along their leadership journey, collaborated with others on a book project, connected with my community (physically distributed food to families), taking two FREE classes on Social Emotional Learning, etc.

It is important for us to capture our accomplishments during this pandemic. Write down your accomplishments. Reflect on them.  You may need to pull them off the shelf when your grandchildren ask you, how did YOU survive the Pandemic?

This small yet important collection of accomplishments, adds to the body of knowledge called HISTORY.

I wish my ancestors would have been able to catch memories in history. I guess they did in their own way. (Another topic for another day.) My point is we have technology which gives us the opportunity to record things we are experiencing right now. Let us not lose this important data, which will be important for our future generations to explore.

So here is my question to you, what have you accomplished during this pandemic?

Take Care.
